Samsung To Bring Galaxy AI Features To Older Devices In March

Samsung Electronics announced on Thursday that some of its old phones and tablets will get the newly announced Galaxy AI features through a One UI 6.1 update. The Galaxy AI feature was announced along with the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Initially, it was limited to only the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the update will now be available on the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series, starting at the end of March.

Earlier this month, Samsung introduced the Google Gemini-powered Galaxy AI feature on its devices, including Samsung wearables like the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Buds FE. The upcoming One UI 6.1 update is expected to be a game changer in the mobile AI industry by providing a new approach combining on-device and cloud-based AI.

This is only the beginning of Galaxy AI, as we plan to bring the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users within 2024 and continue to innovate ways to harness the unlimited possibilities of mobile AI.

Ahead of this launch, Samsung Galaxy users will be able to enjoy the AI-powered features on specific models. The Galaxy AI will be able to adjust the tones of messages and perform real-time translations in 13 different languages, including real-time voice translations for phone calls.
